EPA: Utilities Not Cleaning Up Toxic Coal Ash

The U.S. EPA recently released a report indicating “widespread noncompliance” with its coal ash rule. This is partly due to a loophole that excluded older landfills, ponds, and fill sites. This is a concerning development, as coal ash contains toxic chemicals that can harm public health and the environment.

We must address this issue and work towards ensuring that all coal ash disposal sites comply with EPA regulations.
