Not unlike many businesses who must navigate periods of high growth and a looming Initial Public Offering (IPO), the manufacturer temporarily placed the intense tracking of its procurement-related costs on the back burner. Enter TPI Efficiency, specializing in commodity procurement and energy-related services.
HOW TPI SOLVED THE PROBLEM
ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND AUDIT
As a leader in energy analysis and procurement services, TPI’s client initially relied on TPI efficiency to review current deregulated supplier pricing and contracts in place and provide benchmarks from which to improve.
Over eighteen months, TPI Efficiency renegotiated supply costs at three of our client’s manufacturing plants, conducted full regulated tax, rider, and tariff Review, and saved them over $2.8M.
The total procurement and cost avoidance strategies employed by TPI yielded fantastic results. The client has, since going public, engaged TPI for review of future manufacturing sites, the potential addition of Solar, Wind, and Combined Heat & Power units, and more.

By upgrading to LED, lighting maintenance costs were reduced, saving the airport $276,202 in fixing and updating old fixtures regularly. TPI was also able to help the client ‘opt out’ of their DSE 1&2 tax riders, saving approximately $6,223.
In evaluating the airport’s natural gas usage, TPI recommended switching from Large Choice to Small Choice accounts, which saved around $50,000 over seven years.
Using TPI as a holistic approach to savings kept the airport as cashflow positive around $15,000 per month, all while updating and modernizing their aesthetic look and feel.
