THE CHALLANGE
TPI’s Challenge: A fast-growing international airport was looking to upgrade existing, dated fixtures to LED lighting without any capital investment.
TPI Efficiency addressed our client’s problem by suggesting our “no out of pocket” Energy Made Easy program. This program provided the airport with new lighting, but it also worked out to be a “cash flow” positive program from day one.
TPI was able to help the airport’s team in several other areas of their business. Three LED phases were conducted to reduce annual electricity consumption by 1,424,078 kWh.
The airport did not need to come up with any money out of pocket to complete the job, including installing new LED lamps throughout the entire airport.
By upgrading to LED, lighting maintenance costs were reduced, saving the airport $276,202 in fixing and updating old fixtures regularly. TPI was also able to help the client ‘opt out’ of their DSE 1&2 tax riders, saving approximately $6,223.
In evaluating the airport’s natural gas usage, TPI recommended switching from Large Choice to Small Choice accounts, which saved around $50,000 over seven years.
Using TPI as a holistic approach to savings kept the airport as cashflow positive around $15,000 per month, all while updating and modernizing their aesthetic look and feel.
